I don’t believe there’s a way for me to focus more on that ‘very grown up and romantic and confusing’! Let me just sum it up - REAL! The one thing noone on Buffy has been the way Spike and Buffy have been. There’s love and then there’s love and then there’s Spike and Buffy.
They are not perfect but they are real. They win and they loose, they mess up and then they pick up the pieces. They have passion and they have trust and they have strength and they have love and they have it all because they are together.
And every single thing people point out as a reason for them being ‘wrong’ and ‘no good for each other’ ? I embrace it all and thank you because guess what? They have 100 reasons not to be together and yet they are. They have given up on a lot of things over the years but never on each other. Because for all their flaws, there’s nothing stronger than their love and that’s what makes them the most beautiful couple of TV history, imo.
